Cownose Ray - Adopt "Contoy"
This cownose ray helps save real rays off the Yucatan during our Whale Shark Conservation Expeditions! His name is Contoy for the beautiful island of Isla Contoy off Isla Mujeres, Mexico where we sometimes see this type of ray.
This cownose ray is 15" long and has a 22" wingspan, is soft and lifelike with amazing sparkling eyes and is SO soft he needs to be hugged ASAP!
Currently we are working to help create additional marine protected areas for whale sharks and different species of rays as well as working with policymakers to amend shipping lane locations. We also strive to create awareness for the impacts of overfishing off the Yucatan Peninsula and worldwide. Cownose rays are categorized as Near Threatened by the IUCN and little is known about this ray which is also known as a "cowfish". Your adoption helps us continue our work in Mexico and everywhere we work. Help us by adopting Contoy today!
Cownose Ray does not come with a mini bandana. (He's too big!)
