Florida Keys Conservation Expedition
June 3 - June 8, 2024 departing from Key West - Booking now
This Florida Keys Conservation Expedition takes place in The Florida Keys making day trips out from the island of Key West.
Each day we will see wildlife from the many marine ecosystems in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. We may have encounters with sharks, sea turtles, endangered reef fish, rarely seen mangrove species and marine mammals such as dolphins. We will be snorkeling and free diving in pristine regions. Our guides have spent years finding remote and untouched areas that few people ever see. This expedition is a true adventure!
These are land-based expeditions and we go out every day for wildlife encounters. The expeditions are a citizen science opportunity where you will participate in research, conservation, photography, video and data gathering projects with us and is part of our Ocean Ecosystem Protection Program.
Included in the expedition:
- 4 days and 5 nights with our guides
- 3 full days of wildlife encounters with a small group on the boat
- Lunch, snacks and beverages on the boat
- Conservation and in water safety orientations
- In-field conservation projects
- Marine park fees
- Very small group on the boat
- Crew tips
Not included:
- Hotel (we will have a room block that you will book yourself at a local hotel)
- Optional scuba diving on Day 4
- Transportation to Key West
- Dinners and costs for the land-based day
We will also have a land day to explore the island during our time on Key West. This day may include hiking an island cultural art tour, photography or culinary tour or all of these adventures. The land day activities are also led by Shark Team One local experts and trip leaders. Scuba diving can also be arranged for the extra day if you prefer.
